Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten Registration Begins at TCUSD

The Temple City Unified School District is registering students for Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten, and for the 2014-2015 school year. Children turning 5 years old between Sept. 2 and Dec. 2, 2014 can register in the Transitional Kindergarten program. Temple City High to host Active Shooter Scenario Training on Campus

The Temple City Unified School District, City of Temple City, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and Los Angeles County Fire Department will be conducting an active shooter scenario training at from 8:15 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Monday, March 17 at Temple City High School. All TCUSD employees will participate in this important safe schools training focusing on what to do in the event of an active shooter situation on campus, including participating in active shooter scenarios. TCUSD to Host Community Health Fair and Run/Walk on May 3

The Temple City Unified School District will host a free Community Health Fair and 10K, 5K, and 1K Run/Walk on Saturday, May 3 at Temple City Park, 9701 Las Tunas Dr., in Temple City. Check-in for the Run/Walk will begin at 6:30 a.m., with the Run/Walk beginning at 7:30 a.m. The Run/Walk is free, and runners and walkers will receive a T-shirt (supplies are limited). Temple City Unified Grad Receives Harvard Scholarship

Cory Gerlach, a 2005 Dr. Doug Sears Learning Center graduate, has been awarded a full scholarship and stipend to attend Harvard University’s School of Public Health in Boston to complete a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences in Public Health. Temple City High Students Compete in Culinary Cook-off

Follow-up Story: Temple City High School held its sixth annual Iron Chef Culinary Cook-off on Jan. 30. Nearly 100 students in the Small Business Management with Food classes planned, prepared and served culinary creations for their final exam. Each of the 18 groups had a little more than a week to select and prepare recipes that they could execute well enough to win. Photos are available. Cloverly Elementary Students Compete in National Geographic Bee

Follow-up Story:  On Jan. 14, eager Cloverly Elementary School students entered the Instructional Resource Center to compete in Temple City Unified’s National Geographic Bee. TCHS Announces Annual Holiday Extravaganza “A Holiday to Remember”

Temple City High School Performing Arts Department presents its annual holiday extravaganza “A Holiday to Remember” on Tuesday, Dec. 17 at 7 p.m. at the Historic San Gabriel Mission Playhouse. Temple City Unified’s Longden Robotics Team Excels in Competition

Longden Elementary School’s Robotics Team took the first place Research Trophy in a recent tournament in La Cañada. Longden’s team researched this year's topic, “Natural Disasters,” and identified the lack of fresh drinking water as a major concern. The students’ unique solution was a mobile desalination unit that can be located at the coast, driven to an affected area, and can filter water while on the move.
