WHAT: A red-carpet event celebrating student success in media arts will feature Hollywood film art directors and screenwriters at the sixth annual La Pantera student video festival and awards show at Slauson Middle School from 7 – 8:30 p.m. Thursday, May 26.

John Zachary (Salem, Raising Hope, Act of Valor), Madellaine Paxson (LoliRock, Power Rangers), and Eddie Guzelian (The Tigger Movie, Lilo & Stitch 2) are scheduled to present awards to media students within Slauson’s Studio 26 program. Award categories will recognize students for screenwriting, acting, editing, directing, creating storyboards and for overall creativity.

A sampling of student film projects will be screened at the event, which will feature an Academy Awards-style presentation and live music by the Slauson Jazz Band.

Ticket prices are $5 for adults, $3 for students and children, and $15 for a family pass. Tickets will be available for purchase at the door.
