WHAT: Santa Fe High School will offer parents the opportunity to attend a variety of workshops on topics ranging from teens’ social media use to college and career information during its annual Parent Education Day.

Launched in 2003, the program is an informal and free way to gain knowledge on topics and issues that impact teens today. Approximately 400 parents attended the popular event last year.

The 16 workshops held this year will cover topics such as social media, substance abuse, college 101, financial aid, community college options, teen depression, career information, Aeries parent portal, teen dating and safety, resources for foster youth, NCAA Standards, and connecting home and school for success.

WHEN: 8:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 22

WHERE: Santa Fe High School, 10400 Orr and Day Road, Santa Fe Springs

DETAILS: Parent Education Day attracts hundreds of parents who have the opportunity to visit three, 45-minute workshops over the course the event. Workshops are offered in English and Spanish. Free childcare will be provided. Parents of Santa Fe seniors who attend at least two workshops will earn two free graduation tickets on top of the five each senior automatically receives.
