WHAT: To ensure students attending the San Ysidro School District have access to affordable internet service and computers in their homes, the San Ysidro School District, in partnership with Cox Communications, Computers 2 Kids San Diego and other local service-based organizations, will host an event for families to purchase refurbished computers and discounted internet service.

WHEN: Friday, Nov. 3, 2:30-4:30 p.m.

WHERE: Smythe Elementary School, 1880 Smythe Ave., San Ysidro.

DETAILS: Attendees will have the opportunity to purchase a refurbished desktop with LCD monitor for $80 or a refurbished Lenovo Netbook for $100. All refurbished computers include Microsoft and PowerMyLearning Software and one year of free technical support. Qualified families may purchase Cox high-speed internet for $9.95 per month.

Computers are available to any low-income San Ysidro School District family.

PARTNERS: Event partners are Cox Communications, Computers 2 Kids San Diego, Casa Familiar, South Bay Community Services, San Ysidro Health Center and Connect 2 Compete.
