Paramount High School Celebrates Nearly 1,000 Senior Graduates
WHAT: Paramount High School will celebrate the graduations of nearly 1,000 seniors during an evening ceremony that will feature speeches by salutatorian Gabriel A. Garcia and co-valedictorians Arlene Aleman and Jesus Salazar.
Graduates from the class will embark on higher education ventures across the U.S., including California’s prestigious UC system, Cal State University system and area private and community colleges. The commencement ceremony will be held at Paramount’s 6,000-seat stadium, where the school’s band will also perform for an audience of family members and friends.

DETAILS: Some 730 graduates will attend colleges and universities in fall 2017.
Aleman, a co-valedictorian, is the recipient of a $40,000 Edison International Scholarship, which will go toward the cost of attendance at Stanford University. She earned a 4.5 GPA and plans to study physics.
Co-valedictorian Salazar served as the team captain for the varsity boys soccer team that captured the Division I State Championship in March. Salazar will attend UC San Diego and double major in Mechanical Engineering and Aerospace engineering, as well as pursue a minor in business as a Regents scholar.
