Banning Unified Celebrates Largest Graduating Class in Banning High History

Banning Unified School District proudly recognized the achievement and academic excellence of 264 Class of 2022 graduates from Banning High School – the largest graduating class in the school’s history – during a commencement ceremony on June 2. Friends and family gathered at the Banning Broncos Sports Complex to celebrate the students with cheers and fireworks as they received many honors and accolades, including valedictorian, salutatorian, student of the year and the Banning High Principal’s Award.

Whittier Union Celebrates Academic Successes, Honors Class of 2022 with Stadium Commencement Ceremonies

The Whittier Union High School District Board of Trustees honored three graduates who were unable to walk during commencement ceremonies, presenting them with their diplomas and gift baskets during a Board meeting on June 14. The graduates recognized during the meeting were California High School Summa Cum Laude graduate Anthony Franco and La Serna High School Magna Cum Laude graduates Anabelle Rocha and Andrew Reyes. During the presentations of diplomas, the Board shared words of gratitude for each graduate and expressed their congratulations for achieving high academic success at Whittier Union. The students were joined by their family, peers and school administrators.

Bonita Unified School District Honors Accomplished Class of 2022

Bonita Unified School District will conclude a successful academic year by celebrating the achievements of the Class of 2022 during commencement ceremonies for its two comprehensive high schools and continuation school. Chaparral High School will kick off the festivities with a 5 p.m. ceremony on Tuesday, June 7 at the Bonita Center for the Arts, 822 W. Covina Blvd., San Dimas; San Dimas High School will follow with a spirited ceremony at 7 p.m. at the school’s stadium, 800 W. Covina Blvd., San Dimas. Bonita High School will close out the District’s commencement celebrations with a 6 p.m. ceremony on Thursday, June 9 at Glenn Davis Stadium, 3102 D St., La Verne.

Buena Park School District Middle Schools Celebrate Class of 2022

Gordon H. Beatty and Buena Park middle school students were teeming with excitement during their promotion ceremonies on June 1, cheering as they celebrated their final days as eighth-graders and Buena Park School District students. The ceremonies, held at Buena Park High School, saw the promotion of 178 Gordon H. Beatty Middle School eighth-graders and 240 Buena Park Middle School eighth-graders. The event allowed families to applaud their students while safely maintaining social distancing and following health guidelines.

Fontana Unified Celebrates High-Achieving Class of 2022 with Spirited Commencement Ceremonies

An arena full of family and friends cheered as colorful streamers fluttered through the air, marking the milestone achievement as Fontana Unified’s Class of 2022 graduates turned their tassels during spirited commencement ceremonies, held at Toyota Arena in Ontario from May 25 to 27. Fontana Unified honored graduates from its five comprehensive high schools, two continuation schools and adult school with energetic ceremonies, featuring passionate speeches from standout students, joyful renditions of the schools’ alma maters, and fist bumps and hugs as graduates thanked their teachers. The Class of 2022 includes high-performing students who are headed to prestigious institutions across the country – including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, UC Berkeley, UCLA and Cornell University – as well as graduates enlisting in the armed forces and entering the professional world. Bonita Unified High Schools Recognized for Excellence in 2022 ‘Best High Schools’ Rankings

Bonita Unified School District’s culture of excellence – which includes strong academic performance, high graduation rates and robust college readiness efforts – have earned its two comprehensive high schools a place among the top-performing public high schools in the state and country, according to the 2022 Best High Schools rankings by U.S. News & World Report. Among approximately 1,600 high schools in California, Bonita High School ranked in the top nine percent of schools and boasts a 98 percent graduation rate; San Dimas High was listed among the top 15 percent of schools, and has achieved a graduation rate of 97 percent.

Río Hondo College Celebrates Academic Success with Graduating Class of 2022

Río Hondo College students were celebrated by professors, administrators, friends and family members as they decorated the college campus with adoring signs, bouquets of colorful flowers and congratulatory gifts celebrating the achievements of the Class of 2022. This year, 1,700 students earned Bachelor of Science, Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees. Of those degrees, 1,157 are Associate Degree for transfer, meaning they are eligible for admission to the California State University system. The 2022 graduation ceremony marked the fourth class of students to receive Bachelor of Science degrees from the College, with 21 Río Hondo College students receiving their degrees.

Baldwin Park Unified Unveils Renovated Soccer Field at Middle School

Baldwin Park Unified hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 20 to celebrate the unveiling of Olive Middle School’s renovated soccer field. More than 20 city and local dignitaries gathered for the event, which featured a special performance by the school’s band. The field renovation is one of the last projects to be completed using Measure K funds, passed by voters in 2006.

Banning High School Seniors Celebrate College Decisions

Banning High School seniors celebrated their college and career decisions during a 'Commit to Your Future Day' event on May 2, which included a fully decorated gym with an assortment of hand-painted college banners and graduation backdrops. Banning Unified will continue its end-of-year festivities with a Class of 2022 Parade of Graduates and its annual Senior Academic Excellence Awards Night, where it honors top-performing students with awards and scholarships.

Baldwin Park Unified, City Announce Youth Workforce Program

In partnership with the City of Baldwin Park, America’s Job Center of California, Goodwill of Southern California and the Baldwin Park Business Association, Baldwin Park Unified is launching a NextGen Youth Workforce Program to provide additional job opportunities to students and residents in Baldwin Park from ages 14 to 24. A kick off celebration was hosted on May 25 to formally recognize the program. The program will begin with 70 students who will receive work experience and training with local businesses and potential employers.
