WHAT: Recognizing that it is never too early for students to start considering their post-secondary prospects, Corvallis Middle School is celebrating the opening of its own College & Career Center, the first District career center at an intermediate school.

Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School District Superintendent Dr. Hasmik Danielian will begin the celebration with a talk on how Corvallis students inspired the center’s creation. Two student leaders will share their vision for the center and school staff will detail the types of activities pupils will be offered. After the brief addresses, guests will take a virtual tour.

WHEN: Tuesday, Dec. 1 – 10-11 a.m.

WHERE: Corvallis Middle School, 11032 E. Leffingwell Road, Norwalk

WHY: Dr. Danielian, appointed as NLMUSD Superintendent in July, spent her first 100 days consulting with teachers, support staff, parents, students and community stakeholders to gain a deeper understanding of the district’s strengths and challenges. The development of the Corvallis College & Career Center is a direct result of these consultations and reflects the District’s focus on college and career readiness.
