WHAT: More than 4,500 Lynwood Unified students will have the unique advantage of taking the PSAT or the SAT examinations in the comfort of their own classrooms during Lynwood Unified’s extensive College Day event Wednesday, March 2.

As part of the District’s ongoing commitment to expose and prepare all children, early and often, for college and career, students in grades seven through 12 will participate in College Day.

Lynwood Unified will provide a series of activities, workshops and presentations geared toward college admission for seventh-graders and seniors, including assistance with the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), mentorship, peer networking and scholarships.

Students in grades eight through 10 will sit for grade-appropriate PSAT exams. Juniors will take the SAT. More than 100 juniors received free SAT prep from Princeton Review with many 11th-graders using Shmoop and Khan Academy website resources for support ahead of the exam.

District partners, including the California Student Opportunity and Access Program (CalSOAP) and the National College Resources Foundation, will be on campuses to support teachers, administrators and parents with higher education planning.
