The Lynwood Unified School District will dedicate the Wilson Elementary School Library in the name of Kellie Beaver, former principal and loyal LUSD employee.

Beaver, who passed away in September 2015, served the District for 22 years as a teacher, literary coach, instructional improvement lead, teacher on special assignment and principal.

She inspired many generations of students and, as an excellent teacher, administrator and friend, worked collaboratively with Lynwood staff to improve access to quality education for all students. Her legacy will be commemorated at Wilson and Lynwood Unified for years to come.

The ceremony will feature remarks from members of the school and District community. Current Principal Raymond Schmidt, LUSD Superintendent Paul Gothold and Board Members, as well as students and members of Beaver’s family will be in attendance.

Beaver is survived by her husband, daughter and parents.
