WHAT: The Inglewood Unified School District will host a districtwide celebration of the arts with musical performances, art galleries and choreographed dance during the first annual Taste of Art event. The award-winning Inglewood High School Marching Band will join the district’s 18 schools in displaying arts, crafts, music and theatre during a day that will showcase the programs and talents of IUSD.

Inglewood Unified State Administrator Dr. Thelma Meléndez de Santa Ana will join the Board of Education as well as community leaders at the event. Performances will include a choir rendition, an orchestra and a fraternity step show. Each school will feature an informational booth that highlights its programs.

Food trucks will be onsite and available for food purchase, including Funky Chef (Mexican-Italian fusion), Roll’ N Lobster and I Love Funnel Cakes.

Warren Lane Elementary school is an arts academy that is a Turnaround Arts: California school.

The district is partnering with Los Angeles Philharmonic Association, Youth Orchestra Los Angeles and P.S. Arts for the Taste of Art.
