WHAT: Hundreds of Firebaugh High School students are donating their time this Thanksgiving to make and deliver more than 1,000 care packages for the Los Angeles homeless community on Thanksgiving Day.

Falcon students and alumni, together with Lynwood Unified Board members, faculty and administrators, will be bused to three locations in Downtown Los Angeles Thanksgiving morning to pass out clothing bundles that include socks and gloves, care packages that contain deodorant, hand sanitizer and toothbrushes and a food bag with sandwiches and water. Chaperons and two security guards volunteered their time to ensure that the students remain safe while delivering the packages.

After delivering the packages, students who wish to continue donating their time will volunteer at a soup kitchen in Long Beach.
