WHITTIER – East Whittier City School District invites community members to provide their input on the qualities, characteristics and experience they’d like to see in the District’s next superintendent during a public meeting on March 14.

The Board of Education will use the feedback to inform its selection of an administrator to replace Superintendent Mary Branca, who is retiring at the close of the school year after a 30-year career in the East Whittier City School District.

An online survey will be available March 13-24 to provide additional opportunities for the public to weigh in on the search. The survey can be accessed on the District’s website at www.ewcsd.org. The Board will meet in closed session on April 26 to select finalists, who will subsequently be interviewed by the Board in May.

The Board is expected to make a final selection on May 22.

The Board of Education hired an executive search firm Leadership Associates, which specializes in California school districts, to help facilitate the search process.

The March 14 community input meeting will take place at 6 p.m. at the District Office, in the Dorothy Fagan Ed. Center at 14535 E. Whittier Blvd., Whittier. For more information, please contact Alison Hernandez at AHernandez@ewcsd.org.
