WHAT: The Baldwin Park High Concert Choir and Sierra Vista High Concert Choir and Vocal Ensemble will join musical forces to provide holiday cheer at the City of Baldwin Park’s annual Tree-Lighting Ceremony. The choirs will perform “Joy to the World,” “Silent Night,” “Carol of the Kings” and “The Hallelujah Chorus” from Handel’s Messiah, under the direction of Vicki Salmon of Baldwin Park High and Suzanne Brookey of Sierra Vista High. The accompanist for the performance will be Alexander Lansburgh.

DETAILS: Baldwin Park and Sierra Vista offer comprehensive music programs that perform throughout the year at community concerts and in state and national choral festivals. The Baldwin Park Chamber Choir participates annually at the Los Angeles Master Chorale Festival at Walt Disney Hall, while Sierra Vista High has most recently performed at collegiate invitational festivals at Point Loma University and Fullerton College. Both schools will perform at the Disneyland Resort Community Arts Showcase at California Adventure in December.
