WHAT: More than 320 Lynwood High School students will receive free glasses through a partnership with Vision To Learn, a nonprofit working to eliminate vision issues as a barrier to learning.

Lynwood Unified will partner with the Lynwood Rotary Club for the largest distribution of eyeglasses the District has ever seen. A pair of VTL optometrists will also be on hand to make any adjustments needed for the glasses.

The students who will receive new eyewear went through free screenings earlier this year. The recipients have chosen their own frames.

MORE: VTL staff worked alongside school nurses to administer vision screenings earlier this year. Students who required further treatment were visited at school by the Vision To Learn mobile eye clinic. Optometrists conducted full exams, wrote prescriptions and fitted students for glasses.
