WHITTIER – Whittier Union will celebrate student musical and dance performances at its 2019 Whittier Union High School District Band, Color Guard and Pepster Jamboree, an annual community event that features the District’s five comprehensive high school marching bands, color guards, cheer squads, song and drill team.

The showcase marks the ending of the band and color guard field show season. It will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4 at the Sandra Sanchez Thorstenson Stadium at California High School, 9800 Mills Ave., Whittier.

It will include performances from the schools’ cheer and song squads, as well as performances from the California High School Condor Entertainment Unit, La Serna High School Lancer Regiment, Pioneer High School Titan Regiment, Santa Fe High School Chieftain Tribe and the Whittier High School Cardinal Brigade.

Pioneer High School’s award-winning drill team will perform following the bands. The evening will conclude with a parade featuring students from all bands and then a mass band rendition of “God Bless America.”

The Jamboree provides schools the opportunity to raise funds for their respective music and cheer programs. General admission tickets are $8 at the gate, or $7 if purchased from a band or pepster member. Children under age 5 are free.
