WHAT: Whittier High School senior Julia Rae Rodriguez will be the featured reader when the school hosts a spoken word/poetry showcase designed to honor past and present Cardinal alumni who have gone on to have successful careers in literature.

Rodriguez will read from her recently published first book of poems, Dried Lavender & Sage: Poems As I Grow. Following the reading, the school will officially unveil a commemorative display cabinet containing literary works from 20 former Whittier High students, including thriller writer John Saul, who has sold more than 60 million books since he graduated from WHS in 1959.
