Whittier Union High School District to Host Hispanic Outreach Taskforce Interdistrict Parent Education Conference
WHAT: Whittier Union High School District, in partnership with the City of Whittier, East Whittier City, South Whittier, Little Lake City, Los Nietos and Whittier City school districts, will host the Hispanic Outreach Taskforce (HOT) Interdistrict Parent Education Conference and bring awareness to the needs of English Learners.
The conference will include workshops covering topics such as K-12 and adult education, transportation, childcare, academic success, financial aid, social emotional learning, career technical education and more.

DETAILS: The HOT, founded in 1990, is a nonprofit organization that provides access to and information about services needed to residents in the communities of Río Hondo, Whittier, Santa Fe Springs, Pico Rivera, Los Angeles and neighboring communities. Its mission is to improve the quality of life of Hispanics and the community through programs in education, health, economic development, financial literacy and the cultural arts.
