State Sen. Susan Rubio to Return to Classroom, Engage Bonita Unified Students with Civics Lesson
WHAT: California State Sen. Susan Rubio, a public school teacher, will return to the classroom to engage San Dimas High School students in a lesson about the legislature and civics process, inspiring student leaders to learn how their voices can have a larger impact on their community.

DETAILS: State Sen. Rubio, who served as a teacher in Monrovia and Baldwin Park for nearly 20 years, is visiting local schools to teach guest lessons and share her personal story, with the goal of helping students recognize the value of engagement, advocacy, and making a difference in their communities.
At San Dimas High School, she will teach a lesson in Joe Hanson’s Advanced Placement government and economics class, in which several student leaders on campus are enrolled.
State Sen. Rubio represents Senate District 22, which is comprised of the cities of Azusa, Baldwin Park, Bradbury, Covina, Chino, Duarte, El Monte, Irwindale, La Verne, Montclair, Ontario, Pomona, San Dimas, South El Monte, and West Covina, as well as the unincorporated communities of Charter Oaks, Citrus, North El Monte, South Monrovia Island, and Vincent.
