WHAT: Fontana High School will host a showcase for local teachers, principals, superintendents and school board members, highlighting the success of its Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) program.

The showcase will allow educators to experience AVID elective classes and tutorials firsthand, meet with site leadership to hear highlights of AVID’s schoolwide effect and see how Fontana High School boosts academic success for all students.

DETAILS: Fontana High School is an AVID National Demonstration School, serving as a model for other schools and districts implementing AVID across the nation. Fontana High School has held the prestigious status since 2006.

AVID aims to narrow the achievement gap between the lowest- and highest-performing students and ensure more students enroll in four-year colleges and universities.
