WHAT: The El Monte Union High School District will host a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the start of construction and upgrades to Arroyo High School’s athletic field.

The project will feature a new rubberized track and field, replaced visitor bleachers and concession stands and a grand stadium entrance.

Local dignitaries, school officials, students and community members will be present for the groundbreaking, which will include student performances, honorary speeches and refreshments.

DETAILS: In October 2018, the EMUHSD Board of Trustees approved a new round of funding from the Measure HS Bond, totaling $190 million, to support a sweeping modernization program that ensures every campus receives several facilities improvements.

The Arroyo High School Athletic Field Project aims to promote healthy living, school spirit and will serve as a gathering place for physical fitness activities, athletic events, health and wellness instruction, student performances and school community functions.
