WHAT: The El Monte Union High School District will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony in celebration of the completion of Fernando R. Ledesma High School’s newly built Multipurpose Building and Gymnasium, which features a performance space, fitness areas, outdoor classrooms
and more.

DETAILS: In October 2021 EMUHSD Board of Trustees approved a new round of funding from the Measure HS Bond, totaling $190 million, to support a sweeping modernization program that ensures every campus receives several facilities improvements.

As the first major construction project funded by Measures D & HS, the FLHS Multipurpose Building and Gymnasium aims to promote healthy living, collaboration, sustainability and will serve as a gathering place for health and wellness instruction, physical fitness activities, athletic events, performances and functions.

The site will house a performance space with grandstand seating, basketball court, an outdoor weightlifting area, snack bar, concession and lobby areas, restrooms, classrooms and a learning garden.

Local dignitaries, school officials, students and community members will celebrate the ribbon-cutting with student performances, honorary speeches, tours and refreshments.
