WHAT: The El Monte Union High School District (EMUHSD) will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand opening of Arroyo High School’s (AHS) Stadium, featuring a new rubberized track and field, bleachers, concession stands, a grand stadium entrance, and more.

Local dignitaries, school officials, students, and community members will be present for the ceremony, which will include student performances, honorary speeches, light refreshments, and tacos.

DETAILS: In October 2018, the EMUHSD Board of Trustees approved a new round of funding from the District’s Measure HS Bond, totaling $190 million, to support a sweeping modernization program that ensures every campus receives several facility improvements.

The AHS Stadium Project aims to promote healthy living and school spirit and will serve as a gathering place for physical fitness activities, athletic events, health and wellness instruction, student performances, and school community functions.
