WHEN: El Monte Union and the City of El Monte are inviting the community to celebrate El Monte High School’s historic CIF State Division 5-AA Football Championship victory with a parade and rally honoring the team. This is El Monte High’s second CIF championship since 1930 when it won its first state title.

El Monte High School’s football traveled over 700 miles to take on Crescent City’s Del Norte High School on Dec. 14, delivering a resounding 32-7 win to finish their season 16-0. El Monte High’s amazing season includes winning the 2019 Mission Valley League Football, CIF-SS Division 12 and CIF State Regional championships.

PARADE

DETAILS: The victory parade will feature team members, coaching and school staff, marching band, cheer team, El Monte Union and city elected officials, local legislators and volunteers. It will cover most of the perimeter of the school, with the main celebratory portion of the route taking place on Tyler Avenue between Concert and Mildred streets. The parade will end at El Monte High’s Lions Stadium, where a rally will be held.
