Covina-Valley Unified School District Celebrates Leadership, Dedication During Oath of Office Ceremony
COVINA, CA – Covina-Valley Unified School District celebrated the re-election of its Board of Education members during an Oath of Office ceremony on Dec. 16., reaffirming the Board’s unwavering commitment to student success.
The event, held at the Dr. Mary Hanes Professional Development Center and Board Room, brought together District leaders, staff, and community members to honor the dedication and continued leadership of the Board.
“Our Board represents the diverse viewpoints of the many groups served by Covina-Valley Unified schools,” Board member Simon Wright said. “We work every day to ensure the continued success of both our students and District.”
Wright administered the Oath of Office to Dr. Maria Cruz, recognizing her steadfast dedication as the Board President. Member Rachael Robles administered the Oath of Office to Vice President Sue Maulucci, celebrating her commitment to serving the District, and Dr. Sergio Chavez, a former principal and mentor to Board Clerk Maria Caceres, administered her Oath of Office.
The ceremony also featured special recognitions from the City of West Covina, the office of Assemblywoman Blanca Rubio, and the office of State Senator Susan Rubio, who presented certificates to the Board members in honor of their many contributions to the community.
“Each member of our Board of Education exemplifies what it means to lead with purpose and passion,” Superintendent Dr. Elizabeth Eminhizer said. “Their vision and unwavering commitment to our students and families allows us to provide an innovative education that inspires every student’s unlimited potential.”
The Oath of Office ceremony was a celebration of the District’s shared commitment to fostering a thriving educational environment for all students. By honoring the individuals who lead with vision and passion, Covina-Valley Unified reaffirmed its focus on collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
