BUENA PARK, CA – Buena Park School District is continuing to boost positive behaviors and motivate students to achieve their dreams while building a welcoming community during at-home learning sessions with its new Virtual Spirit Days.

The District’s first Virtual Spirit Day was started by Emery School’s Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) team to bring the school’s community together amid the temporary dismissal of in-person classes. The school challenged its students to dress in their favorite sports team’s jerseys or athletic gear and share their photos with the District.

“It was so great to see so many students participate in our Virtual Spirit Day,” Principal Julie Linnecke said. “I was so proud to see their enthusiasm even from a distance.”

Emery School’s Virtual Spirit day was such a success with the community that the first District-wide Virtual Spirit Day is scheduled for Thursday, April 2.

“It is very inspiring to see the Buena Park School District community come together and show that it still has spirit and a passion for learning,” Superintendent Dr. Ramon Miramontes said. “Emery’s Virtual Spirit Day shows that our community is strong, united and still enthusiastic about education.”
