Bonita Unified Welcomes Seven New Administrators for the 2025-26 School Year
SAN DIMAS/LA VERNE – Bonita Unified School District will welcome seven new administrators for the 2025-26 school year, including three assistant principals, two principals, an assistant superintendent, and a director of transportation.
Bonita Unified has appointed Dr. Kendra Peterson-Broussard as Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources Development and James Foster as Director of Transportation. Kaitlyn Trotter will serve as principal of Allen Avenue Elementary, and Orlando Beltran will lead Lone Hill Middle School. The District also welcomed new assistant principals at Ramona Middle School and San Dimas High School.
Most recently Director of Human Resources at Centinela Valley Union High School District (CVUHSD), Dr. Peterson-Broussard brings nearly two decades of administrative experience to her new role. She began her career as a middle school teacher before serving as a recruitment specialist with Los Angeles Unified and later as a secondary site administrator in CVUHSD. She has spent the past four years as CVUHSD’s Director of Human Resources, overseeing personnel programs for both certificated and classified staff. She holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Illinois Chicago, a master’s in educational administration from Cal State Los Angeles, and a doctorate in leadership from USC.
Foster brings 25 years of transportation experience, including roles with Zum and Durham School Services – student transportation agencies – and Fullerton Joint Union High School District, as well as running a consulting firm. He has a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Argosy University, is Occupational Safety and Health Administration certified, and is president of the Orange County Driver Trainer Advisory Council.
Beltran, who brings a decade of administrative experience to his new position in Bonita Unified, most recently served as assistant principal at Azusa High School. He previously taught middle and high school language arts, worked as a counselor, and taught abroad in Japan. He earned a bachelor’s degree in English and master’s degree in school counseling at the University of Redlands.
Trotter steps into her new role as Allen Avenue Elementary principal after spending two years as an assistant principal at Ramona Middle School. Her previous experience includes an elementary assistant principal role in Alta Loma and 10 years as a classroom teacher and as a crisis manager supporting foster youth.
Trotter holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Simpson University and a master’s degree in educational leadership from the University of La Verne.
Ramona Middle School has hired two new assistant principals in Michael Vaughan and Megan Kojder. For the last 16 years, Kojder has taught science in Walnut Valley Unified School District and San Bernardino, in addition to serving as an interim school administrator, Associated Student Body advisor, mentor teacher, and Advancement Via Individual Determination instructor. She holds a bachelor’s degree in human services from Cal State Fullerton and a master’s in education from the University of Phoenix.
Vaughan has six years of administrative experience and previously taught math and led math intervention programs in Las Vegas and Phoenix. He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from UC Riverside and master’s degrees in curriculum and instruction from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and school leadership from Cal State Dominguez Hills.
A San Dimas High alumna, Kate Jackson returns to her alma mater as an assistant principal, bringing more than 20 years of experience in education. Jackson has served as a teacher on special assignment in curriculum and instruction for Corona-Norco Unified (CNUSD), taught high school English in CNUSD and Chino Valley Unified, and taught education at Claremont Graduate University. She holds a bachelor’s degree in film and arts from Chapman University and a master’s in education from the University of La Verne.
“As we welcome these new leaders into their roles, we’re energized by the expertise, perspective, and heart they bring to our District,” Bonita Unified Superintendent Matt Wien said. “Their leadership will help guide our schools forward, foster strong relationships, and ensure our students continue to thrive in every aspect of their educational journey.”
