SAN DIMAS/LA VERNE – Bonita High School senior Savannah Morua, Chaparral-Vista High School senior Rachelle Torres, and San Dimas High School senior Jacob Pardus stepped into new leadership roles during the Bonita Unified Board of Education meeting on Oct. 8, cheered on by their peers as they took the oath of office to serve as the Board’s student representatives for the 2025-26 school year.

Morua, Torres, and Pardus – who are all part of their campus’ Associated Student Body (ASB) or Renaissance leadership classes – will serve as the voices of their peers on a District level, attending regular Board meetings to provide reports on campus news and share feedback or concerns.

“We are excited to welcome Savannah, Rachelle, and Jacob to the Board and look forward to hearing the unique perspectives they will bring to the table,” Bonita Unified Superintendent Matt Wien said. “All three of them are accomplished student leaders who have embraced the many opportunities available to them on their campuses, and we know they will excel in this new role as well.”

Morua has been actively involved in campus leadership since her freshman year, when she served as Class Council vice president, before joining ASB in her sophomore year. She is also a member of Bonita High’s varsity cheer and field hockey teams, and is involved in campus clubs and activities that include Link Crew, Best Buddies, National Honor Society, California Scholarship Federation, and Yearbook.

After graduation, Morua plans to attend a four-year university and pursue a career in sports business, with an eye toward media or game-day operations for a professional baseball team.

Torres has made the most of Chaparral-Vista High School’s offerings, participating in Renaissance, yearbook, volleyball, and the annual “Pick of the Litter” competition, and was a member of the junior prom court. She is also dually enrolled at Citrus College, where she takes classes in English and history. After graduation, Torres plans to continue her education at Mt. SAC and study interior design.

Pardus began his leadership journey as San Dimas High’s freshman class president; he has been a member of ASB all four years of high school, and currently serves as ASB executive president. He is in his fourth year as varsity captain of the SDHS boys volleyball team, and has been named a two-time First Team All-League player, an Academic All-League athlete, and league MVP.

Pardus is also a member of various campus clubs, including the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, National Honor Society, California Scholarship Federation, and the Environmental Awareness Club.

After high school, Pardus hopes to attend college on the East Coast, study business, and continue to play volleyball.
