BANNING, CA – The Banning Unified School District Board of Trustees has selected Terrence Davis, Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources, as the District’s next Superintendent, who brings nearly 23 years of experience in education to the role.
The Board approved a contract with Davis during its April 27, 2022, Board Meeting. Superintendent Davis will step into his new role beginning May 2, 2022.

“I am honored and delighted to take on the position of Superintendent at Banning Unified,” Davis said. “This is a District that is rich in opportunity and promise, and I look forward to supporting and working with our amazing staff, faculty, families, and community for the continued success of our students.”

Davis has served in his current position at Banning Unified since 2020, and has acted as a leading figure in Labor Relations, Recruitment, and Retention of staff. Davis excels in developing and fostering positive relationships to ultimately enhance student performance.

From 2012 to 2016, Davis acted as Assistant Superintendent of Beaumont Unified School District before serving as Superintendent from 2016 to 2020. During this time, he specialized in developing a rich culture focused on collaboration, community, and student success.

Davis has served in multiple roles at Alvord Unified, Temecula Valley Unified, and Beaumont Unified school districts, contributing 10 years in the field of special education as a teacher, specialist and program director.

Davis holds a master’s degree in special education from National University and is pursuing his doctorate, with graduation imminent in the near future.

In addition to educational leadership, Davis has acted as region president of the California Association of School Administrators (ACSA), as well as a member of the advisory board at the District Administration Leadership Institute.
