Baldwin Park Unified Seniors Thank Teachers, Inspire Elementary Students
WHAT: Nearly 300 seniors from Baldwin Park and Sierra Vista high schools will visit their former elementary schools clad in caps and gowns to thank their teachers and inspire younger students to pursue their own educational dreams during a pair of Senior Walk events.
WHEN: Baldwin Park High School: 1:15 p.m. Thursday, May 24
Sierra Vista High School: 10 a.m. Friday, May 25
WHERE: Baldwin Park High students will visit Central Elementary (19), Foster Elementary (18), Geddes Elementary (7), Heath Elementary (2), Pleasant View Elementary (7), Santa Fe School (3), Tracy Elementary (2), Vineland Elementary (25) and Walnut Elementary (10).
Sierra Vista High students will visit Bursch Elementary (20), DeAnza Elementary (37), Elwin Elementary (26), Kenmore Elementary (43) and Tracy Elementary (51).
DETAILS: Elementary students will congratulate the graduates, often greeting them with posters and high-fives in school hallways or when the seniors step off buses. At many schools, the seniors will announce their college choices to an assembly of students.
