Upland Unified Opens Enrollment for Robust 2026 Summer Programs
UPLAND – Upland Unified School District opened enrollment for its 2026 summer programs on March 2, offering academic support, enrichment activities, and arts instruction opportunities for students from transitional kindergarten through high school.
Programs begin in June and families are encouraged to review deadlines carefully, as some programs have limited capacity.
Summer Bridge, part of the District’s Expanded Learning Opportunities Program, serves current TK through fifth grade students. The program will run from June 15 through July 23, Monday through Thursday, with Juneteenth observed as a holiday. The morning session includes instruction focused on reading, math, and social skills. Afternoon programming emphasizes enrichment activities, sports, and hands-on experiences. Enrollment closes April 17. All current TK–5 students who apply before the deadline are guaranteed placement.
Summer Bridge programs are also offered for students transitioning to junior high and high school campuses. These sessions focus on academic expectations, campus procedures, and social development. Transition sessions will take place June 15-18 for incoming Pioneer Junior High students, July 13-23 for incoming Upland Junior High students, and Aug. 4-6 for incoming freshmen.
In Summer 2025, 780 students enrolled in Summer Bridge, with an additional 158 students registering after the deadline, demonstrating the popularity of the program among District families.
Summer Child Care is also available for current TK through sixth grade students from June 8 through Aug. 14. This fee-based program includes academic practice, enrichment activities, on-site visitors, and field trips. Enrollment closes May 22. Acceptance is dependent upon completed registration and payment.
Upland Academy of the Arts will offer Summer Intensive programs in Choir and Dance, with a morning session for rising seventh- and eighth-grade students and an afternoon session for rising fourth- through sixth-grade students. The Academy partners with the YMCA for swim opportunities and the Cheech Marin Museum of Chicano Art for a museum visit as part of its Summer Bridge programming. Enrollment is open to students from Foothill Knolls STEAM Academy, Pioneer Junior High, and Upland Academy of the Arts on a first-come, first-served basis.
At Upland High School, Summer School will run June 8 through July 10. The program provides high school students with the opportunity to recover credits or take advance coursework. Instruction takes place in person Monday through Thursday, with online instruction on Fridays.
“We encourage families to take advantage of our many outstanding summer opportunities and enroll early,” Superintendent Dr. Lynn Carmen Day said. “Our programs are designed to support students academically, help them build confidence, and provide a safe and engaging environment mixed with fun. We are proud to offer options that meet the needs of students at every grade level.”
