SAN DIMAS/LA VERNE – Bonita Unified School District’s comprehensive high schools, Bonita High and San Dimas High, have been named among the top 16 percent of public high schools nationwide in the 2025 U.S. News & World Report “Best High Schools” rankings, recognizing the schools’ commitment to academic excellence and college readiness.
Bonita High School placed in the top 11% of public high schools nationwide and in the top nine percent of schools statewide. San Dimas High School ranked in the top 16% nationwide and in the top 15% of California schools. Both schools achieved graduation rates of 94% or higher.
The U.S. News rankings, in partnership with Research Triangle Institute (RTI) International, evaluated 17,901 schools across the country using six indicators of quality: college readiness; curriculum breadth; state proficiency scores; performance in reading, math and science; underserved student performance; and graduation rates.
Students at Bonita and San Dimas high schools have access to a wide range of opportunities to prepare for college and career success, including nearly 30 Advanced Placement courses across both campuses.
San Dimas High School also offers the Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) program, a four-year elective that supports students with skill development, tutoring, and extensive college preparation, including university visits, guest speakers, financial aid workshops, and scholarship support.
Bonita Unified also supports students and families with information meetings and college workshops held throughout the year, providing guidance on applications, financial aid, and career planning. Graduates have gone on to attend top universities across the nation, including Harvard, Johns Hopkins, Notre Dame, UC Berkeley, Columbia, Syracuse, USC, UCLA, and the California Institute of Technology.
“These rankings highlight the outstanding work of our students, staff, and families in building a strong academic foundation across Bonita Unified,” Superintendent Matt Wien said. “We are proud to see Bonita and San Dimas high schools recognized on a national level, and we remain committed to preparing every student for success in college, career, and life.”
