EL MONTE – Known for her outstanding dedication, professionalism, and unwavering support for students and staff, Mountain View High School (MVHS) Office Clerk III Belinda Mora has been named El Monte Union High School District’s 2025 Classified Employee of the Year. Mora, who has served the District for nearly 18 years, was recognized during a special presentation at the May 7 Board of Trustees meeting.

Joined by her family, friends, and colleagues, Mora was celebrated with a certificate of recognition, a commemorative award, and the addition of her name to the District’s permanent honoree plaque. Widely regarded by her peers as the heart of the Mountain View campus, Mora’s calm, thoughtful presence and quiet leadership have made her an indispensable part of the school community.

“My goal has always been to make sure the teachers and students have everything they need,” Mora said during the meeting. “However, this is not mine alone – this belongs to all the classified staff at Mountain View. We all work very hard and we all love what we do. I would like to share this recognition with them. Also, to my parents, for instilling within me a strong work ethic and for always supporting me, along with my brothers, sisters-in-law, and my nephew. Thank you very much.”

Mora began her career at Mountain View as a guidance clerk before moving into attendance and has served as an instructional clerk for the last 15 years. In this role, she works directly with administration on a wide range of essential campus operations, including the school’s master calendar, California Science Test (CAST) and California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) testing coordination, field trips, disaster drills, conference reimbursements, textbook inventory, radio distribution, substitute coordination, student teacher placement, guest speaker scheduling, and more. She also serves as the Viking Leadership Council secretary and helps coordinate the school’s Viking Rewards Program, Back to School Night, Open House, and assemblies.

Though not a Mountain View alumna, Mora has lived in El Monte her entire life and remains deeply committed to serving her community. Her colleagues describe her as dependable, highly organized, and composed under pressure.

“Tonight, the land of the View is proud to honor our beloved Ms. Mora as the 2025 Classified Employee of the Year,” MVHS Principal Jose Banas said. “She is very deserving of this recognition. We are not only recognizing what she does behind the scenes but honoring who she is and how she makes Mountain View a better place for all of us every day.”

Outside of her work, Mora is a devoted Los Angeles Dodgers fan and recently had the opportunity to chaperone a student field trip to Dodger Stadium—an experience she described as unforgettable.

“El Monte Union is proud to recognize Belinda Mora for her outstanding contributions to Mountain View High School and the entire District,” Superintendent Dr. Edward Zuniga said. “Ms. Mora exemplifies the professionalism, compassion, and dedication that define our classified employees. Her steady presence and tireless work have a profound impact on the school community, and we are grateful for her continued service.”
