Río Hondo College to Host Welcome Reception for New Superintendent/President
WHAT: Río Hondo College will host a welcome reception for Dr. Arturo Reyes, the College’s recently appointed superintendent/president.
Reyes, an educator for 33 years, most recently served as superintendent/president of Mendocino College. He began his tenure as Río Hondo College’s 10th permanent leader in July.
Reyes started his Río Hondo College service by holding a series of meetings with College leaders, faculty, staff and students to learn the needs of the campus community. He also launched a series of budget forums to boost transparency of College finances and to facilitate campuswide awareness regarding fiscal resources.
A lifelong California resident, Reyes holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from UC Davis and a Master of Arts degree in Education and Administrative Services credential from California State University, Sacramento, where he participated in the Bilingual Leadership Training Program and received dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Communication Studies and Spanish. He also holds a secondary teaching credential from UC Davis.

DETAILS: Guests will have the opportunity to meet the new superintendent. Members of the Board of Trustees will also be present. Refreshments and heavy hors d’oeuvres will be served.
