SAN YSIDRO – San Ysidro School District will hold its second annual Families First Resource Fair on Saturday, July 30, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The fair will provide SYSD students, families and community members with resources such as job assistance programs, housing programs, food programs, county benefits, and other valuable information.
“We find that students with a healthy home life show greater achievement in the classroom,” San Ysidro School District Superintendent Dr. Julio Fonseca said. “The Families First Resource Fair will provide families with access to local services to ensure our students go home to a healthy, safe and stable environment.”
The Fair will bring families in direct communication with local organizations that can provide support and services within the community.
“Strengthening our community is key for the academic success of our students,” San Ysidro School District Board President Marcos A. Diaz said. “With the Families First Resource Fair, we will be giving families direct access to resources that can help them receive proper guidance.”
Representatives from various organizations will be available at the fair to answer questions and distribute literature to community members.
“We want to grant our community members with access to organizations that can provide advocacy and support,” Student and Family Services Manager Veronica Medina said. “We want our community to know that we are here for them.”
The Fair will take place at the San Ysidro School District office, 4350 Otay Mesa Road, San Ysidro.
