WHAT: South Whittier elementary school students and families this month will walk, jog and run toward a healthier lifestyle while raising money for campus programs during festive Color Run fundraisers. The community-oriented events will include colorful courses, students covered in liquid color and parents, teachers and staff cheering them on every step of the way.

DETAILS: McKibben Elementary’s inaugural “Color Me Bully-Free” run will promote positive behavior.

Loma Vista’s kindergartners and first-graders will start the school’s PTA Color Run at 12:30 p.m., followed by second- and third-graders at 12:45 p.m. and fourth, fifth and sixth-graders at 1 p.m. For the kindergarten through fourth-grade classes, funds will be allocated for field trips. Fifth grade funds will go toward next year’s outdoor science school, while funds earned by sixth-graders will be applied to their promotion ceremony.

Lake Marie’s second annual “Color Me Fun Run” aims to raise $10,000 for student digital tools. Students in transitional kindergarten/kindergarten, first and second grade will run from 12:15 to 1 p.m. Third- through sixth-graders will run from 1 to 1:45 p.m.
