EL MONTE – El Monte Union High School District will host its annual College Night at El Monte High School on Monday, Sept. 23, providing students and parents the opportunity to meet with college representatives from more than 40 colleges and universities and learn more about the college entrance process.

Students from all of the District’s high schools are invited to participate in the event, taking place from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at El Monte High School, 3048 Tyler Ave., El Monte.

The fair will feature representatives from such colleges and universities as UC Berkeley, UCLA, UC Santa Barbara, Cal State Los Angeles, Cal Poly Pomona, University of La Verne, Pasadena City College and Rio Hondo College. Representatives from each military branch will also be on site.

The event will include “The College Path,” a workshop that will provide students and families with information on financial aid, college requirements, various post-secondary education options and college admissions. English-language workshops will be held at 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. Spanish-language workshops will be held at 6 and 7 p.m.

The event will also include student support services such as the California Student Opportunity and Access Program (Cal-SOAP) and Pasadena City College’s Upward Bound program and El Monte/Rosemead Adult School.
