DETAILS: Launched in September, the Bassett Innovation Center is an educational hub that brings together teachers, administrators, classified staff, parents and community members to enhance instruction and learning for students and provide classrooms designed for the 21st century.

The Center features three rooms, one of which is a collaboration hub for Teacher Specialists to focus on four key professional development fields: content area in common core math and language arts, early literacy, 21st century innovation and technology integration. The remaining two rooms provide a space for training to deepen learning for teachers, faculty and parents.

All rooms are equipped with the same state-of-the-art technology that has been incorporated into the District’s secondary schools, including 80-inch interactive flat screens. Funded by the District’s Measure V bond, the technology will be incorporated into elementary schools by summer 2016.
