AZUSA, CA – With the goal of fostering a more interconnected community, Azusa Unified School District has launched a new mobile app that displays the latest news, events and information surrounding its elementary, middle and high schools. Available for free download in Apple’s App Store and Google Play, the official Azusa Unified App is designed to provide parents with a direct line of communication to their children’s school.

Powered by Blackboard, the new app serves as a supplemental tool to offer a constantly updated feed of information with photos and links to the district’s website and social media platforms. The app is also customizable to each user so that a desired school can be selected in order to receive information that is pertinent to them.

“This is another example of how Azusa Unified aims to remain on the forefront of technology so that our students have every opportunity to be successful,” Azusa Superintendent Dr. Linda Kaminski said. “Through enhanced parent and community engagement, this app takes us one step closer into the learning experience of our students so that everyone with a vested interest can be involved.”

The app provides easy access to the district tip line and gives the option to receive push notifications to get breaking news and updates about school closures, calendar changes, and more. Parents and local community members are encouraged to download this free mobile app to their smartphones.
