WHAT: More than 500 Lynwood Unified K-6 students will participate in the District’s inaugural Elementary Track and Field Meet, with families, students, teachers and community members cheering on students as they compete in a 100-yard dash, 4×400 relay and long jump, among other events. This is the first year the District has funded after-school track and field coaches and equipment for all 12 elementary schools through its Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP).

WHEN: Saturday, April 8 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

WHERE: Lynwood District field 4050 E. Imperial Hwy. Lynwood

MORE: Students who earn first- through fifth-place medals will represent Lynwood Unified at the Carson City Base Qualifying meet on May 21 at Rancho Dominguez Preparatory School. Teams from each of Lynwood Unified’s 12 elementary schools have been training since November.
