WHAT: The Baldwin Park Adult and Community Education (BPACE) Older Adult Program, in association with the City of Baldwin Park, will welcome 400 community members to a Year of the Dog celebration of the Lunar New Year with a traditional lion dance, artistic performances and cultural presentations.

WHEN: 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 16

WHERE: Performing Arts Center, 4640 N. Maine Ave., Baldwin Park

DETAILS: The annual event will feature welcoming remarks from BPACE Senior Director Dr. John Kerr. In addition to the lion dance, BPACE students, instructors and community groups will perform the emperor broad sword, tai chi canes, tea blossom dance, Taiwan aboriginal dance, mei hua san long (fan) dance, cheong sam dance, carmen gypsy dance and sailor dance, among others. At the end of the program, dim sum, rice, green tea, oranges and fortune cookies will be served.
