WHAT: Five hundred students from all 11 Bellflower Unified elementary schools and both comprehensive middle/high schools will perform at the District’s Annual Instrumental Music Festival.

The program features the elementary band, GATE band, Bellflower and Mayfair middle school bands, a combined district orchestra, Bellflower High and Mayfair High percussion ensembles and combined bands from both high schools.

WHEN: 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 30

WHERE: Bellflower High School gymnasium, 15301 McNab Ave., Bellflower

DETAILS: Some 400 guests are expected to attend the festival which will feature 200 elementary school, 120 middle school and 180 high school students.

The event has been held for more than 10 years to showcase student music expertise and demonstrate the pathway for music education from elementary through high school. This year, both middle school and high school bands and the orchestra have received superior ratings at local festivals sponsored by the Southern California School Band and Orchestra Association.

Tickets are $5; children 5 and under are free. Snacks will be sold by Mayfair High School boosters.
