WHAT: Nearly 400 students from elementary, middle and high schools across Bellflower Unified will demonstrate their vocal talents during the District’s 13th annual Choral Music Festival, an event expected to draw more than 400 guests.

Students will perform a variety of music styles, from classical and tradition to folk, jazz and pop. Music from “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” will also be featured.

The selections emphasize the range and depth of the District’s program, a hallmark of Bellflower Unified for more than 35 years.

WHEN: 6:30 Wednesday, April 26

WHERE: Bellflower High School, 15301 S. McNab Ave., Bellflower

DETAILS: The Music Festival, which is free to attend, will include choirs from both District comprehensive high schools and junior high schools and as well as the Elementary Honor Chorus, which includes more than 50 members from grades five and six. Honor chorus members are chosen from across the district.

Food and beverages will be available for purchase as a fundraiser for the booster clubs. A DVD of the performance will also be available for $10.

Bellflower Unified, which engages more than 1,750 students in its elementary arts program, also will stage its annual instrumental music festival at 6:30 p.m. May 30 at Bellflower High School.
